Shirley Jackson

Shirley Jackson was a horror and mystery writer. She is best remembered for her unsettling novel of paranoia and the supernatural, 'The Haunting of Hill House' (1959) and her terrifying short story 'The Lottery' (1948) and lots of them were adapted as films.

2. The Haunting (1963)

a) Director: Robert Wise
b) Introduction: The Haunting is a 1963 British psychological horror film. It is based on The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. It is about a scientist doing research on the paranormal who invites two women to a haunted mansion. One of the participants soon starts losing her mind.
