Edith Wharton was a Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist, short story writer, and designer. She was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature for third times. Lots of her works were adapted to movies.

b) Introduction: This movie is the third film adaption of Edith Wharton’s 1092 novel of the same name. The movie is a tale of nineteenth-century New York high society in which a young lawyer falls in love with a woman separated from her husband, while he is engaged to the woman's cousin.

2. The Reef or Passion's Way (1999)

b) Introduction: The Reef (also known as Passion's Way) is a 1999 historical drama which is based on the book The Reef by Edith Wharton. The film is set in early 20th century. The movie revolves around a young widow who renews her love with a man until she discovers that he had a past relationship with one of her new employees, who is a nanny. This makes the two women accuse each other for particular reasons until the end of the movie.
3. Ethan Frome (1993)

b) Introduction: Ethan Frome was an adaptation of the novella Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. In this movie, a new pastor arrives in a stark Vermont village and is intrigued by crippled, misshapen Ethan Frome living on an isolated, hardscrabble farm with his sickly wife Zeena.
