Course Description

        Forensic medicine is an interdisciplinary course between medicine and forensic science, which applies theories and technologies of medicine, biology and other natural sciences to resolve forensic problems related with injuries. It can provide clues to criminal investigation, and provide scientific evidence for justice and civil meditation. The objective of this curriculum is to help student understand basic theory and technique of forensic medicine (e.g. forensic pathology, clinical forensic medicine, forensic biology), familiar with activities which may involve legal in medical process, and, if necessary, as a physician expert to help the departments concerned to preliminarily resolve the forensic science issues in the judicial proceedings.Thus this curriculum can help students to prevent and reduce medical errors and malpractice, to raise the level of medical technology and medical service quality in future health-care work.

    法医学是一门介于医学和法学之间的交叉学科，是应用医学、生物学和其他自然科学的理论和技术，研究和解决法律上与人身伤害有关的问题，从而为刑事侦查提供线索，为司法审判和民事调解提供科学证据。本课程的主要目的是使学生掌握基本的法医学知识和技能（主要包括法医病理学、法医临床学和法医物证学），熟悉医疗过程中可能涉及法律的活动，并能在必要时担任医师鉴定人，协助有关部门初步解决司法诉讼中的医学问题。通过学习本课程，能帮助学生在未来的医疗工作中预防和减少医疗过失和医疗事故，提高医疗技术水平和医疗服务质量。
