Research

My main area of research is on hormonal carcinogenesis especially in prostate and breast cancer with special reference to the importance of epithelial-stroma interactions and factors regulating the development and progression of cancers.

The main foci of research are in the following areas:

1. The role of Id1 gene in prostate carcinogenesis.
2. Specific protein markers for human benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
3. Id1 gene and development of prostate cancer from androgen dependent to androgen independent cancer.
4. Id1 gene as an oncogene in prostate cancer initiation.
