Course requirements

1. Class attendance and participation (10%)

2. A project presentation and report (40%)

The project needs to select one theme plus two cases (one Chinese case should be included). It needs to describe major characteristics of the selected cases and examine the underlying dynamics of the phenomenon. Comparative perspective is particularly encouraged. It needs to refer to the literature in the selected topic. A tentative list will be provided, but students are also encouraged to propose their own topic.

3. A take-home final exam (50%)
